Malta Exceptional Investment Naturalisation Program

CITIZENSHIP CRITERIA

  • Applicants must make a contribution of €600,000 for the standard 36-month residency route, or €750,000 for the fast-track 12-month residency route.
  • Individuals must donate €10,000 to a non-government organisation dedicated to philanthropy, culture, science, sports, art or animal welfare.
  • The interested party must be at least 18 years old at the time of their application.
  • Applicants must reside in Malta for a minimum of 36 months (or 12 months in special circumstances) before applying for Citizenship.
PROCEDURE
  • RESIDENCE APPLICATION

    Interested parties must first apply for a residence permit, as the Maltese citizenship program requires applicants to reside on the island for a minimum of 36 months before applying for citizenship.

  • GOVERNMENT DUE DILIGENCE

    Applicants who successfully pass the Maltese government’s Tier 1 due diligence checks are granted a residence permit. They will then be subject to Tier 2,3 and 4 due diligence checks, after which a Maltese minister will decide the application’s outcome.

  • VISIT TO MALTA

    Successful applicants must purchase their desired property and donate to the government. Upon doing so, the individual will be summoned to take the Oath of Allegiance in Malta, where they will be presented with their Certificate of Naturalisation.

  • PASSPORT ISSUED

    Upon approval of an individual’s application, passports are issued within 16-18 months.
